This small painting in acrylics was actually made for a book illustrating the techniques of oil painting!

Stan was working to a tight deadline, and acrylics allowed him to work faster. When photographed for publication, his brushwork made the finished painting indistinguishable from one painted in oils.

The picture appears on page 29 of Oil Painting Workbook, published by David & Charles ISBN 07153 1356 8.
